Italy Air Quality Request

Italy has had 11 out of 12 requests for more time to meet air quality targets for particulate matter (PM10) rejected. The European Commission stated that it is determined to take a tough stance on this issue. The Commission did however approve a time extension for one zone in the region of Campania. The vast majority requests for time extensions have been rejected.
