Italy President Slams Safety Lapses

On a day in which three people were killed and three seriously injured in work accidents across Italy, the President of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano has criticised the conditions in which many people in the country work under. ‘Tragic, disturbing and unacceptable for a society that wishes to describe itself as civilised’ were the strong words that the President used to describe the situation.
