Italy Waste Crisis

Italy has been criticized for failing to meet standards set by European waste legislation. The European Court of Justice ruled that the country had not adequately ensured that waste was being disposed of during the 2007 waste crisis in Naples, southern Italy. The ECJ said that the lack of action had endangered both human health and the environment.
