Junk Food in Schools

A new study claims that bans on junk food in schools could help tackle childhood obesity. The study looked at Body Mass Index (BMI) trends before and after the enactment of legislation prohibiting junk food from school premises. The researchers found that while the rate of overweight students increased prior to the ban, this was significantly reduced in the years following the legislation.
