A survey carried out in Spain has revealed that consumers feel they know very little about genetically modified food and that moreover, that the majority of consumer concerns about GM products relate to the perceived risk to human health. The report therefore concluded that if GM foods are to be introduced into European markets, particular attention will need to be paid to providing consumers with better information.
