Low Pesticide Levels in Greek Oil

Levels of pesticide residues in Greek olive oils are sufficiently low and do not pose a risk for human health, according to a Greek study. The researchers, who were partly funded by the Pythagoras1 programme, examined 100 olive oil samples both from organic and conventionally grown crops from the 10 main olive oil producing regions in Greece. Results showed that the estimated daily intakes of pesticides were significantly low when compared with acceptable daily intakes.
