Malnutrition Risk for Pensioners

Some 16% of Belgians over seventy are currently malnourished and nearly 6 in 10 are in danger of malnutrition, according to recently published research. The alarming conclusion that a majority of Belgians over seventy are at risk of not receiving the right amount of nutrition was reached by GPs, who scrutinised the eating habits of over 5,000 elderly people. The research urges the elderly and those looking after them to become more aware of the dangers of malnutrition and suggests they improve their diet through the use of dietary supplements.
