A nurse in Malta has successfully sued medical authorities after falling from a ladder at a health centre. The accident, which occurred in 1999, occurred when the worker climbed a ladder in order to access a file at height. While medical authorities contended that there was a lack of evidence of physical damage, the court ruled in her favour. It said that the employer had failed to ensure the safety of employees and provide a safe framework within which to work.
