A 3-year study into methane emissions from cattle on 350 farms across the UK is due to be launched shortly. The initiative, which is claimed to be the first of its kind, is being run by an independent consultancy. The scheme is part of a broader attempt to tackle the problem of livestock emissions. Gas produced by livestock accounts for 4% of the UK's total carbon emissions alone.
