Mother’s Diet Influences Child Obesity

What pregnant women eat can influence their child’s metabolism, claims a new study from the University from Dublin. Eating foods with a high glycaemic index during the last 3 months of pregnancy, such as white bread and chocolate, could therefore increase the likelihood of obesity in later life. The majority of studies done until now on childhood obesity have focused on food eaten by children, but researchers may now turn towards including the diet of mothers in future studies
