Nanotechnology and Food

The use of nanotechnology in the European food sector is set to grow rapidly, predicts the French health food market analyst Alcimed. According to Alcimed’s research, the number of companies showing an interest in the technology should grow as benefits such as extending shelf life and improving taste, become more widely known. Indeed, according to figures provided by the European Commission, the market is expected to be worth between €750 and €2000bn by 2015.
