New Sensor to Detect Decay

A team of German scientists has come up with a revolutionary way to test whether food is ripe or not. They have patented a range of small spider-shaped sensors, which can instantaneously detect changes in food ripeness or the first signs of decay. This data can then be sent electronically to supermarkets or wholesalers. The researchers expect this will lead to improvements in consumer health and food quality.
