Norwegian Ice Status Report

Former US Vice President Al Gore and Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre recently presented a report on melting ice to the UN. The Norwegian Polar Institute coordinated work on the report, which suggests that ice caps are disappearing faster than previously anticipated. Antarctica for example, which previously seemed safe from significant losses of ice, now shows signs of that it is losing ice on a similar scale to that of inland Greenland.
