Not Enough Fibre in European Diet

A Dutch study has found that less than 10% of men eat the recommended amount of fibre which is 32 to 45 grams per day. For women, this figure is even lower, with just over 5% of women eating the right amount. Nutritionists have suggested that the food industry should be offering and promoting a greater range of fibre-rich foods such as cereal, wholemeal bread and cookies.
