Nutrition Labelling Widespread: Study

Good nutritional information on food products across the EU and Turkey is widespread even though such labelling is only voluntary, says a new study. The Food Labelling to Advance Better Education for Life (FLABEL) survey found that food packaging in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands was more likely to carry nutritional information than packaging found in other EU nations. The report also found that the most common format was the table of nutrient information on the back of packs. FLABEL researchers concluded that consumers have “little problem understanding those labelling formats we currently have”.
