Oil Spill in Italy

The Po River in Italy is under threat of pollution from an oil spill. Environmentalists have warned of an ecological disaster if Italy’s longest river is spoilt. The Po river valley is the most important agricultural region in Italy, and several water and bird species are at risk. Officials believe that the cause of the spill was probably sabotage at a former refinery turned oil depot.
