Overloading Responsible for Sinking

02 October 2009
‘Significant Overloading’ was responsible for the sinking of the ‘Blue Lady’, a fishing vessel, in the North Sea in spring, according to the Danish Maritime Authority. The boat is estimated to have been carrying 48 tonnes of fish, even though its maximum catch load was 22.4 tonnes.
