Prague Health and Safety Conference

Large companies are more efficient at ensuring the health and safety of their employees than small or medium sized companies, a recent conference in Prague heard. According to the Director of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), companies with less than 10 people respect on average only 30 to 40% of legal regulations concerning safety and health protection at work. The conference also heard that economic losses resulting from damage to health at work is around about 3 to 4% of GDP. In 2007, 188 fatal work injuries were registered in the Czech Republic alone.
