Pressure over ‘Toxic’ Wreck

The Italian government is coming under increasing pressure to address potential environmental and health consequences that might emerge from a wreck, discovered recently off the coast of Italy, which is rumoured to contain toxic waste. Preliminary studies, conducted via a robot, have revealed pictures of what appear to be orange barrels marked ‘toxic’ and the remains of two humans. Regional authorities in the South of Italy are planning to petition the European Commission for support in dealing with the investigation.
