Severe Floods in Albania 

13 January 2010
Severe flooding in northern Albania has left more than 2,000 buildings unusable and more than 4,000 people without a home. Assistance from several European countries in the form of mobile generators, rescue boats and helicopters has however helped the rescue effort. A crew of 30 fire-fighters from Greece for example has helped ease pressure on infrastructure. In addition, Austria and France have agreed to transport their relief items jointly.
