Retaliatory Tariff on Italian Water

The new US administration has announced that a 100% tariff on Italian mineral water will be delayed for 2 months. Italian mineral water was added to a revised list of EU food and beverage products that the US wanted to impose additional import duties on, in retaliation for the EU ban on American beef raised using hormones. Increased import duties have already been applied to products including hams, sausages, truffles, chocolate and pears. The only country not penalised by higher duties is the UK, which permits US beef imports.
