Romania Green Building Scheme

26 May 2009
The Romanian government has launched an initiative to replace old heating systems in town halls, schools and hospitals with more ecological ones. The government says it plans to invest around €75m this year in its Green House Programme. The aim is to replace old heating systems based on fossil fuels with new ones that will use solar energy, geothermal energy and other sources of ‘green’ energy. The Romanian government says that its investment in the scheme will enable it to support around 80% of the total costs of replacing old heating systems.
