Romania Junk Food Tax

Romania is considering the introduction of a junk food tax that would help fight obesity and provide funds for health care. The department of health believes that such a tax could raise as much as €1bn in extra revenue. One Romanian out of four suffers from obesity, according to the Romanian nutrition federation, and governments across Europe have been looking at novel ways of addressing the epidemic.
