Safest Region in Italy Announced

Friuli Venezia Giulia – the Italian region on the border with Slovenia has been revealed as the safest place to work in Italy according to the figures for 2008. In 2008 there were 25,929 accidents at work in the province, of which 25 were fatal accidents. This is a significant improvement on 2007, where there were 28,051 accidents, 27 of which were fatal. Other provinces which did well according to the statistics were Umbria and Emilia Romagna – both in the north of the country.
