School Fined over Pupil Tragedy

Following a hearing into a tragic accident during an art lesson after which a 16-year old schoolgirl lost eight fingers, a court in Lincolnshire, England has fined the school responsible £16,500. The girl lost her fingers when her hands got stuck in a bucket of plaster of Paris that heated up and set, leaving the girl with severe burns and only two remaining fingers. The school admitted to breaching health and safety rules.
