Scottish Waste Firm Fined

A Scottish firm pleaded guilty this month to breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974. The company accepted that it had put the lives of two workers at risk as they delivered animal waste from a neighbouring abattoir to a waste pit. The waste intake area had no gas monitors or alarms installed. The two workers became unconscious after inhaling fumes in what was a confined space.
