Solar Power in the Vatican

The Vatican wants to build the biggest solar plant in Europe as an example of what states can do to fighting climate change. The solar plant, designed by German solar-panel maker Solarworld AG, would cost around €500 million. The Vatican City’s Governor is quoted as saying that in times of crisis, people should take advantage to try and develop renewable-energy sources. A public tender for suppliers and builders is likely to take place soon.
