The European Commission is working on a report claiming that Italy, Spain and Greece could be affected by climate change this century, which might hit tourism earnings and food production. The costs of not stopping climate change now, will be of about 6.2 billion Euros in 2020, according to the draft report called “Adaptation to Climate Change”. It also mentions highlighted increased risks from wildfires in the eastern Mediterranean and Balkans and dangerous heat waves in Spain.
