Spain: 14% of Workers Bullied?

09 June 2009
Some 14% of respondents to a survey carried out in Spain claim to have suffered from repeated aggression at work during the past 6 months. 5.8% claimed to have frequently experienced mobbing, a figure close to that advanced by the International Labour Organisation, which estimates the prevalence of workplace abuse at 5%. The results of the Spanish survey reveal that women and older workers are more likely to be victims of mobbing. Workplace abuse also occurs more often in workplaces with less than 50 workers. The most common form of abuse is bossing. Survey results show that 47.2% of abuse cases are carried out by superiors.
