Spain Coal Boost

Spain has announced that it intends to promote domestic coal production in order to increase energy security and protect jobs. Some environmentalists however have warned that the move could result in an increase in power sector emissions of 20%. Coal-fired generation in Spain fell by 30% last year, which contributed to a 21% fall in power sector emissions.
