Spanish Accident Raises Questions

A 33-year old had his arm severed in an accident involving a dough mixer in Gandia, Spain. The worker, an illegal immigrant from Bolivia, claims that his employer’s careless treatment not only caused the accident, but made the possibility of surgical reattachment impossible after the accident. The incident has highlighted the issue of the treatment of illegally employed workers and workplace safety in general. The worker also claims that his employer was slow in getting him to medical attention because of his employment status.
