Spanish Subsidy Cut Hits Solar Profits

21 April 2009
Global revenues from solar installations will decline by 40% this year, according to a report from technological research firm iSuppli. The report identifies the global credit crunch and a decision by Spanish authorities to reduce subsidies for solar installations as the major factors. As a consequence, the number of solar installations is expected to decrease by 32% in 2009. The research firm is confident however that the solar installation market will pick up again as of 2010.
