Swine Flu Affecting Employers

More than two thirds of employers in the UK have already suffered temporary staff losses as a result of swine flu, according to a survey of 429 small and medium-sized companies by law firm Eversheds. 72% reported swine flu absenteeism and 38% reported that they expected their sales to be hit by the pandemic. Britain has experienced one of the highest numbers of swine flu cases, though most people have only suffered mild to moderate symptoms.
