Top Green European Cities
14 December 2009
A list of the top ten greenest cities in Europe has been published, with Copenhagen judged to be the most environmentally friendly. The study, released at the UN Climate Change Conference, analyzed 30 cities in 30 European countries for their achievements and objectives in environmental and climate protection. Copenhagen was followed by Stockholm, Oslo, Vienna, and Amsterdam. The report says that Scandinavian cities typically ranked high, in part due to an above-average gross domestic product per capita.
