Legal Liability for Work Deaths

01 April 2009
A UK company has pleaded guilty to breaching the country’s health & safety and construction safety regulations following an incident in which 2 men died. The men had been working on an unsecured crane when it collapsed. An untrained worker had been tasked with tightening the bolts on the structure, something that was not properly carried out. This caused the crane to collapse when it turned. The incident took place on a construction site at a school in 2005.
