UK: Green Banking

The UK plans to create a €2.2bn investment bank to help investment in low-carbon infrastructure. This proposal was part of the UK’s budget announcement for 2010. The bank would be established in 2011 with up to £1bn in funding from the public sector and £1bn from the private sector. The 2010 budget also included an £8 rise in landfill tax.
