UK Ships Nuclear Waste

Highly active waste from a nuclear facility in the UK is en route to Japan under tight security. The waste is bound for a nuclear facility in northern Japan. Environmentalists have warned that authorities cannot rule out the risk of an accident. Under the terms of arrangements between nuclear authorities, the UK plans to export some 925 tons of foreign nuclear waste over the next decade.
