Water Vole Numbers Growing

The British water vole – whose numbers have crashed by 90% in 20 years – is making a comeback, according to this year’s wildlife survey for British Waterways. There were 89 sightings this year, more than twice the number of sightings last year. Conservationists are hopeful that this moment marks the reversal of the species’ decline.
