Welsh Quarry Owner Fined

The owner of a quarry in Wales has been fined after being found guilty of breaching the Quarries Regulations Act following an accident in 2008. A trespasser broke a number of bones after falling 17 metres. It was found that inadequate barriers had been put in place to discourage trespassers around the boundary of the quarry, as specified in the Regulations.
