Worker Killed by Meat Grinder

25 August 2009
A 20-year old temporary factory worker was killed at a meat processing plant in Saulce-sur-Rhône, France, when he fell 2m into a meat grinding machine. The cause of the accident has not yet been established, but the local procurator’s office has opened an official investigation into the accident. The investigation will focus in particular on the working of the machinery, which ought to have been equipped with functioning sensors that would have stopped the machine as soon as the body fell in.
